Hodges Appointed to Second Term With American Cancer Society

WASHINGTON (March 18) --Howard University Hospital Associate Hospital Director Glenda Hodges, Ph.D., has been appointed to a second three-year term with the American Cancer Society Board of Directors for the South Atlantic Division.  Hodges is currently slated to serve from 2010 to 2013.  She will continue now until 2016.

The American Cancer Society is a nationwide, community-based, voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. It has 12 chartered divisions, more than 900 offices nationwide and a presence in more than 5,100 communities.

The South Atlantic Division covers the states of Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia and the District of Columbia.

Hodges is responsible for Support Services at the hospital, which includes respiratory therapy, parking, patient relations, pastoral care services, multi-cultural affairs, community services, food services, protective services, environmental services, patient transportation and the Gift Shop.
