College of Medicine, HUH Add New Physicians

WASHINGTON -- Howard University College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital are pleased to announce the addition of eight new physicians. The new doctors will be work in the departments of Internal Medicine, Orthopedic Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Psychiatry, Neurology and Radiology.

The new additions will allow the College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital to  continue the quality medical care and service to the Washington area the tradition of the institutions for more than 140 years.

 

Dr. Mohankumar Kurukumbi, Neurology

Dr. Mohankumar Kurukumbi is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Howard University College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. Board certified in neurology, Dr. Kurukumbi received his medical degree from Karnataka Medical College in India. He completed his residency at Howard University Hospital and completed his fellowship in clinical neurophysiology at the University of Buffalo.

 

Dr. Charu Gandotra, Internal Medicine

Dr. Charu Gandotra, is an assistant professor and cardiologist at Howard University College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. Dr. Gandotra is board certified in internal medicine, nuclear cardiology and cardiovascular computed tomography. She received her medical degree from Dayanand Medical College and Hospital in India. She completed her residency and fellowship training in cardiology from Howard University Hospital.

 

Dr. Mohammad Ghazvini, Cardiology

Dr. Mohammad Ghazvini is an assistant professor, cardiologist and director of interventional electrophysiology at Howard University College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. Board certified in internal medicine and cardiology, Dr. Ghazvini received his medical degree from the University of Medical Sciences in Iran and completed his residency and a fellowship at Howard University Hospital. He completed a second fellowship in electrophysiology at George Washington University Hospital.

 

Dr. Dapo A. Ojeyemi, Orthopedic Surgery

Dr. Dapo A. Ojeyemi is an instructor and surgeon in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Howard University College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. His subspecialty is spine surgery. Dr. Ojeyemi received his medical degree from State University New York-Downstate College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Howard University Hospital and a fellowship at the University of Texas in Houston.

 

Dr. Kamyar Sartip, Radiology

Dr. Kamyar Sartip is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiology at the Howard University College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. Board certified in radiology, Dr. Sartip received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School. He completed his residency at Christiana Care Health System in diagnostic radiology and a fellowship in neuroradiology at Georgetown University Medical Center.

Dr. Babar Shafiq, Orthopedic Surgery

Dr. Babar Shafiq is an instructor and surgeon in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Howard University College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. His subspecialty is orthopedic trauma surgery. Dr. Shafiq received his medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. He completed his residency at Howard University Hospital and a fellowship at the University of Minnesota.

Dr. Marjorie Warren, Psychiatry

Dr. Marjorie Warren is an assistant professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Howard University College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. Dr. Warren is board certified in psychiatry. She received her medical degree from Howard University College of Medicine. She completed residencies in psychiatry at Meharry Medical College and in radiology at Charles Drew Medical Center. She completed a fellowship in child and adolescent psychiatry at Emory University School of Medicine.

Dr. Leila Zucker, Emergency Medicine

Dr. Leila Zucker is an instructor and attending physician in the Department of Emergency Medicine at Howard University College of Medicine and Howard University Hospital. Dr. Zucker is board certified in emergency medicine. She received her medical degree from Georgetown University School of Medicine and completed her residency at George Washington University.
