First Time in College (FTIC)

  • High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
  • Minimum Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) score of 1020 or an American College Test (ACT) score of 22
  • Submit an official high school transcript with satisfactory completion of:
    • 4 years English
    • 2 years Sciences (w/lab)
    • 2 years Social Science
    • 3 years Mathematics
    • 2 years Foreign Language
  • Submit two letters of recommendation:
    • One letter of recommendation from a teacher
    • One letter of recommendation from a high school counselor
  • Submit an admission essay
  • Submit a completed report of Medical History and Immunization(s)

  • Complete prerequisite courses
  • Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
  • Submit official transcript (s) from all academic institutions previously attended
  • Hold a current RN License

Upper Division Admission Requirements
(Upper Division courses start summer session II)

Continuing Students
(Including FTIC, rising juniors)

  • Complete separate application for admission to the upper division
  • Complete all prerequisite courses for admission to the upper division
  • Achieve minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
  • Achieve a minimum science grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Includes prerequisite Mathematics (College Algebra), General Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology and Anatomy & Physiology I & II
  • Successful completion of an admissions examination (currently Test of Essential Academic Skills –TEAS-V®)
  • Submission of an essay personal statement
  • Attend a personal interview with the Undergraduate Nursing Program Admissions Committee
  • Submission of official transcript(s) from all academic institutions previously attended

LPN to BSN & Transfer Students

  • Complete separate application for admission to the upper division
  • Complete all prerequisite courses for admission to the upper division
  • Achieve minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.8 on a 4.0 scale
  • Achieve a minimum science grade point average of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Includes prerequisite Mathematics (College Algebra), General Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology and Anatomy & Physiology I & II
  • Successful completion of an admissions examination  (currently Test of Essential Academic Skills - TEAS-V®)
  • Submission of an essay personal statement
  • Attend a personal interview with the Undergraduate Nursing Program Admissions Committee
  • Submission of official transcript(s) from all academic institutions previously attended
    • All science courses transferred must have been completed in the last 5 years. Includes prerequisite Mathematics (College Algebra), General Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology and Anatomy & Physiology I & II
  • Students who have failed a nursing course in another nursing program will not be considered for admission
  • LPN to BSN applicants must hold a current LPN license
  • Submission of completed report of medical history and immunizations
