Welcome to our program’s site and thank you for your interest in our stellar residency training program.
The Howard University Hospital Obstetrics & Gynecology Residency Program is a fully accredited, four-year year program that accepts four residents annually year for a total of 16 residents.
For 150 years, Howard University Hospital, a 482-bed, teaching hospital at one of the nation’s most historic universities, has proudly served the community with a commitment to innovative patient care, teaching and research.

Over the past five years our program has developed an innovative approach to teaching obstetrics and gynecologic education, such as evidence based court room style debates, small group seminars, ABOG and CREOG reviews, simulation training and mentorship programs. We also offer a variety of protected didactic conferences, including radiology and pathology conferences, journal clubs, Continuous Quality Improvement Projects and other patient safety activities.
In addition, over the past five years our residents have consistently scored in the top 99th percentile on the national CREOG in training examination and have had years of 100% passage rates on the national board exam.
