Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation

The Department of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation is responsible for identifying and addressing the comprehensive rehabilitation needs of patients with disability and compromised function in the hospital and community. The department interfaces with all disciplines of medicine and adds another dimension of care, focusing on functional abilities and quality of life.

Always warm up before and cool down after exercising. "Warming up your body prepares you for a good workout," Kalyanam says. "Cooling down allows the heart rate to return to normal."

At least five minutes of each should do.
